The Origin of Antique Oriental Rugs

Antique oriental rugs are organized by their origin. The various types distinguished by their place of birth are Persian rugs, Anatolian rugs, Kurdish rugs, Caucasian rugs, Central Asian rugs, Turkestan rugs, Chinese rugs, and Tibetan rugs. Persia ( now known as the Islamic Republic of Iran) is generally known as the originator of antique Oriental rugs. The art of making such exquisite rugs has undergone many changes throughout the ages. Hence generally these rugs are known as Persian rugs. There was a rise in the trend of use and manufacture of these rugs in Persia before the invasion of the Mongols.
