30 years to pay off a loan?

When I have gone for a loan. I just go in and tell them how much I want, and let them take care of it. I never new that you could negotiate. I would do a lot better If I had know. So call me dumb. Lenders approve 5 to 30 years of repaying duration for the loan. So, you can choose to repay as suits to your financial ability. I guess it is live and learn.
