Corner bath tubs are sought after models

11 August 2008

While applying a make-over to their new apartment, my niece faced a predicament about their third bathroom. It was quite small compared to the other two but required a stimulating renovation. Their interior designer broached the subject of Corner Bath Tubs. These are ideal for tiny bathrooms as they allow space utility to the optimum. They are available in various colors so that the users can match these units with the shade of their bathroom. Corner Bath Tubs are manufactured in fiberglass and acrylic materials. Their best feature is able to fit easily in “corners”. I was so impressed that I forced a make over in my small bathroom by installing one!

My New Interest In Geo-thermal Heating And Cooling

03 August 2008

It looks like
geo-thermal heating and cooling is finally starting to show some progress here in the U.S. Iceland gets most of their energy from geothermal, of course. But it turns out that the U.S. has excellent geothermal resources as well, that we ought to be putting to better use.

Small hot tubs look graceful

30 July 2008

As my bathroom is not very large, I decided to buy a small hot tub with all the latest facilities as I am getting married next week. My friends advised me that small hot tubs are ideal for people like me who want more intimacy and closeness. The one that I purchased was manufactured by a well known company and was made of stainless steel as the retailer advised me that this required low maintenance. Just by wiping it with a soft fabric and using mild detergent, I will be able to keep it looking shining for a very long time. Small Hot Tubs are a free standing tub and look very elegant in my bathroom.

It’s All Greek To Me - Interior Design School

17 July 2008

I like a well designed house, I just don't always know the terminology involved in high design. In speaking with a few interior designer it was like they were speaking another language altogether. I didn't think it was done on purpose and one of them did acknowledge it was a product of the total immersion that begins in Harrington interior design and tends to continue after school and into their professional life.

One designer stated that it is a practice that they find difficult to break but it is necessary to do so if the designer ever wants to work. Most people, myself included aren't up on designer lingo and to effectively communicate with potential clients you must as a designer be able to effectively get a point across without too much confusion.

The easy cleaning solution

09 July 2008

I have three children and as you can imagine they often make quite a lot of mess, especially when they are eating food and running around the place as children often do. In order to make sure that the kitchen was quite easy to keep clean I decided to fit some vinyl tile flooring, simply because I have heard it is one of the easiest surface is to clean, even when sticky food has been spilled on it. I can honestly say that it was absolutely right, and now I find it much easier to keep my kitchen clean.

3 Questions To Ask To Help You Design A Kitchen

27 April 2008

When you plan to design a kitchen there are certain questions to ask yourself. By answering these questions you will learn what is most important to you in your design.

1. How many cooks will be using the kitchen? If two people in your family likes to cook you may want to think about having two ovens in the kitchen and also two prep areas. You don't want two people to try and occupy the same space or crowd one another.

2. Does you kitchen layout allow for enough storage space? If not you may want to add a pantry storage cabinet to the design. You could also incorporate a lazy susan or add under cabinet storage.

3. How is the lighting in your design? The last thing you want is a dark or improper lighted work area. Kitchens should be bright and comfortable. Think about adding under cabinet lighting to brighten the work surfaces.

Ask yourself these questions to help you design a kitchen that will be perfect for you and your family.

Women are buying their own tools!

01 March 2008

As a sales person in a home improvement center, I've noticed an increasing trend of women who are assembling their own tool kits. They seem very well informed, probably having done their research on the internet. The first thing that the want to see is these new light weight tool kits and I always recommend one made from plastic. Plastic is both strong and durable and will be capable of carrying all the tools that a basic home tool kit would need. There are also a lot of light weight tools on the market, easy to handle and light to lift. Sales in my department have risen a lot recently, and when I when I see a lady browsing around with a determined look in her eye, I know that I'm about to sell another light weight tool kit.
