Worm Farms
17 August 2008
Although most people have called worms nightcrawlers at one time or another, all worms are not nightcrawlers.
There are three common species of nightcrawlers. Two are composting worms and can be used in worm farms. One cannot be used as a composting worm.
The European and African nightcrawlers are very good composting worms. Each have different requirements for bedding and environment, but will perform well if both are met.
The Canadian nightcrawler, on the other hand, is not a composting worm.
Nightcrawler is used so often as a generic term for all worms. But worm is a much better term for worms in general.
