Should I invest in the Japanese Stock Market?

26 November 2008

I have been trading stocks for a little while now, and I am wondering whether it might be a good idea to diversify my holdings a bit and purchase some stock on some of the other large stock markets like the Japanese Stock Market. Can anyone tell me if it would be a good idea to invest in Japanese stocks? Japanese companies seems to make and sell a lot of the things that I buy, so I am thinking that these companies must be doing pretty good. Where can I find our more about the Japanese market and how to invest in it?

Which Online Bank Should I Choose?

03 November 2008

I am going to open a supplemental savings account with an online bank, and I am not sure which bank I should choose. I could really appreciate some advice on which banks have the best online banking services. I want to find an account with few or no fees that pays out the highest possible interest rate for savings accounts. There are so many banks to choose from I am just not sure which one would be the best. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with particular banks? I am trying to find out the pros and cons of the different banks to help me make a decision.

Where Do I Apply For A Fha Loan?

20 October 2008

The main source of information where anyone could go in order to find out anything they would want to about an Fha loan is, of course, the internet. There are so many websites that can be visited that have all of the information you would want from who to call in your area to apply for an Fha loan, what types of documents you would need to get the process started, ways to check up on your credit report to see if you even should pursue a loan or pursue working on your credit, and many other resources that you would need to know about.

About Personal Liability Insurance

17 October 2008

I’ve been curious lately about Personal Liability Insurance.
Liability insurance is an essential when running any business.
I’ve been looking into Contractor’s Insurance online to see what my options are.
Now I have to figure out how much coverage to get, which has me thinking about all the stuff that could go wrong. Good times.
Alright - that’s all for now.

Did you know

13 October 2008

if you are feeling the pinch of this recession (what else do you call it?) you may be more and more tempted to dip into your retirement fund to pay off credit cards or other bills.  My advice is to work some extra hours, or clip coupons, because if you elect for a 401k hardship withdrawal if you don’t meet certain requirements you will have to pay an extra 10% penalty, and even if you do, you will have to pay tax on everything you take out, virtually guaranting that you will never save up the same amount to put back in.  Yes, stay the course and stay disciplined is my advice.

Getting into and out of credit trouble

10 October 2008

A friend of mine once said to me that living with credit is like living with a woman. Sometimes difficult to live with, yet more difficult to live without. I began to realize how right he was when I got myself into some financial trouble about two years ago. I just couldn’t afford to pay my living expenses and credit card payments, and had to go into default. It took me almost a year to make up the backlog, and what a difficult time it was. I kicked myself every time I had to wait in line at the bank to pay a bill or draw money, and promised myself two things. One that I would never get myself back into such a mess, and secondly that as soon as I could, I would restore my credit score, so that I could have the use of my credit card again. I had to do some research on what it took to have a positive impact on my credit score the way I had a negative impact. Turns out credit repair is actually fairly easy. Now I monitor my credit scores and watch for false reports or any problems so I can take care of it right away.

Learning About A Financial Planning Career

06 October 2008

I think it’s about time I considered making a shift to
A Financial Planning Career. It sounds like much more fun than what I’m doing now.
I’ve checked out some information on Independent Financial Advisors, and it looks doable from my perspective.
I can’t think of any better way to earn a living than to help people achieve financial independence.
Until next time.

What is a Tax Shelter Annuity?

27 September 2008

Are you familiar with the term “annuity”? An annuity is a distribution of money you earn on an investment put forward on a fixed timeframe usually annually. Annuities are typically used in the world of retirement funds. A tax shelter annuity is a new program offered in accordance with section 403(b) of the Internal Revenue Code is a popular option. You can deposit pre-tax portions of your salary into the annuity towards retirement or insurance. So how is it different from a 401k plan? To begin with, your employer is not an active party in this annuity, and therefore you are the only one pumping money into the annuity. Also, limitations are not imposed on the annuity by your employer.

About Green Investing

26 September 2008

I’m getting more and more excited about
Green Investing these days. I think a world-wide boom in more enlightened businesses is just getting started. WE can finally do well by doing good.
I’m most interested in Alternative Energy Investments. I think the potential for growth is so exciting in green enterprise these days that I am moving my entire portfolio over.
Even the tiny effort of choosing to invest your personal savings in businesses who look to the future can make a difference if enough of us choose to do it.
I’ll be looking forward to your comments.

Looking Into Medical Procedure Loans

25 September 2008

I’ve recently become interested in Medical Procedure Loans.
We need financing for medical procedures for my wife’s cancer, and I don’t know how to get it.
I’ve been reading up on Getting Help With Medical Bills, but the process is intimidatiing. Our credit is OK, but not great.
I guess I’ll just have to keep at it until I find a good financing option.
Oh well. I’m progressing slowly but surely.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this down the line.

Where property taxes are based

14 September 2008

Property taxes are based on the fair market value of taxable property, where the assessors make the fair market value determination based upon the status and condition of property as of January 1 of each tax year. Property taxes have doubled over the past twelve years, and if the State Legislature and local governments do not address the problem, property taxes will double again over the next dozen years. Property taxes alone will not pay for all of the vital City services and supports, and a well-thought out, coordinated economic plan that draws revenues from a variety of sources including property taxes would probably serve the citizens more effectively.
