Pay Off Old Bankruptcy Debt?

22 July 2008

If you think that going back a few years later after having used Bankruptcy services and completing a chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy to pay your debts will help remove the bankruptcy from your credit report, you are wrong.

Once you have used the services of a bankruptcy attorney and successfully had your debt discharged by a court of law in the US, your debt no longer exists, so why try to pay for it?

If you filed Chapter 13, then you already have a plan in place to repay debts, but chapter 7 effectively gets rid of the debt you file for.

Nothing will remove bankruptcy from your report.

Are The Claims Against OB/GYNs Going Up?

16 July 2008

There have been reports in the paper lately about women having trouble finding prenatal care since a lot of OB/GYNs are quitting the specialty due to the high costs of medical malpractice insurance in the field. Are there so many more claims against OB/GYNs that the rates have to rise and put people out of business? Where can I find out more medical malpractice information? I really want to find out what is being done to try to solve this issue since care from an OB/GYN is so important to women. I hope the insurers and doctors can come up with some type of solution.

Thoughts On Charitable Remainder Unitrusts

02 June 2008

I’ve been reading up on
Charitable Remainder Unitrusts and learned some surprising things. For example, you can use them to save on taxes before you pass away, while still drawing income from your gift.
The more I learn about the Charitable Remainder Trust, the more interested I become in using charitable trusts as a way to save on taxes and support causes I believe in at the same time.
Now comes the difficult part: informing my family of my decision. They’re all well provided for, of course, but they will object anyway.
Alright - that’s all for now.

Warnings Signs of Dishonest Immigration Lawyers

02 February 2008

Illegitimate lawyers, especially disability lawyer, and businesses will gladly take your money and then disappear never to be seen again and never having even attempted to deliver on their promises.  Legitimate immigration law firms obviously don't partake in this type of illegal activity because they are in business for the long-term to help immigrants. The problem is exacerbated by the fact the most immigrants are not familiar with the laws of the US and typically do not speak English as their first language.  But the thing that most works against them is their desperation to escape their current situation and live in the US.

The Creation of a Corporation

16 November 2007

The initial step you take in forming a corporation is to file the Articles of Incorporation with the right agency of the government. Normally, it is filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the country. Included in the articles of incorporation are the general nature of the corporation, the amount of authorized stock, and the names and addresses of the directors. Then, after the approval of the articles, the meeting of the directors should result in creation of the bylaws that will be used to govern the internal functions of the corporation.

Keep the paperwork down

09 November 2007

If there’s one thing I hate about running a business, it’s the amount of paperwork that needs to be done. So when I looked into the possibility of forming a limited liability company I imagined that the amount of paperwork would be much the same are even more than running a business as a sole trader. But I was surprised. The fact is that LLC formation doesn’t result in a great deal of paperwork, and in fact in many ways the amount of paperwork I have to go through is much less than when I was at a sole trader. Now I have a limited liability company all the paperwork goes through the company and is kept in check by my company accountants. I have a company bank account, and that keeps my personal money separate from my company money, which is how I like it. If any of the sole traders out there are holding go forming an LLC because they think they will be too much paperwork then it’s time to think again.
