Many policyholders have given up the quest for term life insurance policy coverage because it could not locate its insurance policies. To make matters worse, the insurance companies themselves often deliberately destroyed old policies. They should have known better: The policies' very language establishes that they cover actions brought against the policyholder long after the expiration of the policy period.
