As with any other type of projection TV, you will need to be very concerned about the lifespan of the bulb or lamp.  Unfortunately, even though the projection unit may be rated for several thousand hours of use, the display will get dimmer over time.  In many cases, consumers report that certain lcos projection tv models are virtually useless within two years.  Typically, by the time the screen loses 50% of its brightness, you will have to replace the lamp, or have it recharged.  Because projection TV's take advantage of fairly new technologies, the cost of these services can be very expensive.  You may also find that there are additional costs associated with shipping the unit to an appropriate repair center.
